BRACE FOR IMPACT

The Challenge We Took On

Lakeridge Health Foundation needed more than another donation plea.

They wanted people to truly understand the impact of giving and feel inspired to be part of it. As one of Ontario’s largest community hospitals, they support life saving cancer care, research, and innovation, but traditional healthcare messaging was not breaking through. The challenge was creating healthcare podcast content that could connect emotionally while building trust and credibility. Our approach was to rethink hospital communications through branded video podcast production, using patient storytelling, the intimacy of long form conversation, and a host with lived experience to create a nonprofit podcast series that felt personal, powerful, and impossible to ignore.

The Impact We Made

We delivered end-to-end video podcast production through Brace for Impact, a 10 episode branded podcast series featuring conversations with cancer care patients, doctors, nurses, and donors. Hosted by our co-founder Kolter Bouchard, a former cancer patient at Lakeridge Hospital and a broadcaster for over 10 years, the series combined broadcaster-led podcast production with authentic survivor storytelling. We extended the reach through social-first podcast clips and a YouTube podcast trailer that turned the launch into a cultural moment. The results spoke for themselves. The promotional video outperformed the foundation’s previous top reel by 1677%, proving that when healthcare podcast production is human, bold, and story-driven, communities do more than watch. They listen.
